ONU Faulty Identification and Troubleshooting

 Only power LED showing on ONU

a) Confirm the status of LEDs on the device, plug in the device in another switch and check the LEDs status once it reboots

b) Change the Adapter then check again if the issue remains the same you can declare the ONU faulty.

c) Same specifications of the adapter and of the ONU

d) Backside (12v/1.5Amp) (12V/0.5Amp) (12V/1Amp) i.e., Adaptor should be of the same specification as the

ONU.

e) Probe if the user has another adapter available, plug in this adapter and check if the device works

Either 5Ghz or 2.4 Ghz LED not showing on ONU
         
Open the ONU through the SSID whichever is working (either 2.4GHz or 5GHz) and check 2.4 and 5 Ghz wireless setting is disabled or Not. If it is disabled, so enable the setting and led will come UP and If you found that wireless setting is already Enable and still LED is not showing so it’s means ONU is faulty.

How to check WiFi Is enabled or NOT:-

a) Login to the router page:

Go To WLAN Setting on the above you will get the Enable setting.

2.4 GHz and 5ghz LED NOT SHOWING

b) Open Aprecomm → Click On Configuration → Click on Wifi as shown below:

Click on Edit option near the Status tab against the SSID.

Click on dropdown to enable the SSID if disabled and then click OK.

Click on Save to save the changes.

Summary:

If the ONU is faulty, please create a ticket for DEVICE CHANGE, mention all the remarks properly, and assign it to the partner. SLA would be typically within 48 hours.

Device Change, Device Upgrade/Downgrade, Device Faulty Process for DI:

  • Some ERP's have these features activated wherein DI is enabled.

  • Any Device change, upgrade, downgrade, device faulty, return related tickets needs to be checked & worked on properly.

  • If under "Assigned to Employee* on the left side any Name or Employee ID shows up, Do not PP the tickets just add notes & save it Note to Excitel
