Errors While Connecting Directly Through Dial-Up Connection (PPPoE)
Error 676: This is a dial-up error indicating "the line is busy". If this error appears when establishing a PPPoE connection, delete the connection(dial-up) and recreate it.
Error 678/651: This error belongs to connectivity issue that means there is no connection in the wire which is coming from outside but some time it can be a misbehave of PPPoE dialer which can be confirmed by the (Ethernet) Network icon on the task-bar if it’s showing connection means there is no cross “X”.
Note: In such cases when showing connection on task-bar but the PPPoE dialer is showing 651/678 error then try to DELETE the dialer and re-create it.
Error 691: The username/password on the connection is incorrect. Make sure the correct username/password for Excitel account is being used.
Note: In case customer is getting 691 error it is must that Procare is also showing the error for incorrect username or password in “Last RADIUS Message” tab otherwise you can consider it as false ERROR.
Error 769: Indicates the network card is not enabled.
Error 721 or 777: Possible outage on ISP side.
Error 815: Usually occurs after upgrading to a new version of Windows and permissions aren't correct, preventing the use of an existing PPPoE connection. Remove the connection and re-create it. If unsuccessful, create the connection from a Windows administrator account.
